The rain held off later in the afternoon of July 8th, so the 3pm Zodiac headed out with visitors from Germany, Mexico, USA and parts of Canada. It was almost flat calm on the water. Skipper 'Tony' took us east and then south toward Hein Bank. We met up with some Orca from J and L pods. L 77, ' Matia ' was easily identified. They were foraging off San Juan Island. The whales were very active, chasing after fish and each other. Some of J Pod mothers and their young ones were working the tide lines and enjoying the kelp. It was a 'Magical' experience. Our return trip took us through Chain Islets where we saw Harbour Seals, Rhinoceros Auklets with bills full of silver fish, migrating Heermann's Gulls, Pigeon Guillemots and two Bald Eagles. It was another exciting wildlife adventure with 'Prince of Whales'
