Ocean Magic Wildlife Adventure July 26 3:30

Our experienced Capt Shaun, and very knowledgeable, crew, Marnie, Casey and Rachel took the 3.30pm Ocean Magic vessel over to San Juan Island. It was here that we found members of J pod, a fish eating, Southern Resident pod of Orca, busy foraging, playing and generally traveling back and forth slowly along the west side of SJ island. With fabulous weather and calm seas all around, and sightings of whales almost daily, how could anyone not enjoy the Wildlife Adventures that Prince of Whales has to offer. Although the animals were spread out we were able to watched a mother Orca and her calf frolic in flat calm water.Looked like the calf may have had some kelp it was playing with. A young male J 26 , 'Mike 'surprised us suddenly as he swam by. A visit to the rocks at Trial Island gave us great looks at Harbour Seals that were hauled out. What a fantastic adventure once again.
