Sunday's Ocean Magic 9am Wildlife Adventure took us East to San Juan island. Here Capt Shaun "Saltchuck" was searching the water for Orca that had been in the area the day before. It was not long before the radio crackled with a call from James "Radar" who had found the Orca in the Fog north of San Juan Island. We then made our way into the fog and caught up with Radar. Once on scene we took in the sights of J pod as they made their way past. The Orca made their way south along Haro Strait and out of the fog into the sunny skies. A real west coast experience with the Killer Whales and some Fog!
The 12:15 Ocean Magic Wildlife Adventure took us West to Sooke. Here we caught up with L pod as they made their way south towards Race Rocks. With the sun beaming down, the sights and sounds of the Orca were taken in as they made their way past. Our passengers were all smiles after viewing these magnificent Killer Whales. Our Skipper then took us through Race Rocks Ecological Reserve. High up on the rocks hauled out was a young Elephant seal, taking full advantage of the warm summer sunshine fast asleep on a rocky island. This was a wonderful way to enjoy the splendid scenery and wildlife that Vancouver Island is famous for!
