12:15 Ocean Magic
9am Ocean Magic When conditions are as good as what the weather man provided on Sunday morning, August 16th, one can only marvel at 'Nature' in all her glory. The 9am ' Ocean Magic 2 ' left the harbour and headed east and then north to seek the four Transient Orcas that had been reported in Haro Strait. Capt. Shaun and his expert crew found these apex predators traveling slowly past the Kelp Reef marker, in mirror smooth water. It was magical to watch their slow and deliberate dives beneath the surface. With no wind present it was a very comfortable ride, so after several minutes with these mammal eating Transient Orca, we continued to Spieden Island in the San Juans. Here we saw many Sika Deer and a juvenile Bald Eagle. Our return trip took in the sights and sounds of Zero Rock where we saw cormorants, gulls, and Harbour Seals. It was another great wildlife adventure with Prince of Whales.

Capt. Shaun, took the 12.15pm 'Ocean Magic 2 ' out of the harbour and headed toward the Gulf Islands where the T101's , 4 Transient Orca, that had been seen earlier, had now traveled to. Our trip took us past incredible west coast scenery on both sides of Haro Strait, this sunny August Sunday. We finally caught up with these Apex predators at Otter Point. They were heading toward Active Pass, a narrow and busy stretch of water for small boats and BC Ferries, linking Haro Strait to the Strait of Georgia. These Orca followed the Ferry into the pass while another ferry headed out . Just amazing to watch how well these animals can navigate the endless marine traffic. Our crew, Marnie, Casey and Rhonda shared their knowledge with our guests on board. It was another magical encounter with Orca.
