With an all girl crew on Wednesday's 3.30pm Ocean Magic sailing, we were bound to have an exciting time on our wildlife adventure. Capt. Anna took the Ocean Magic out of the harbour and headed us east toward San Juan Island. Although it was a sunny afternoon, the wind got up and so did the waves which only added to the excitement of our trip. When you then add sightings of Resident and Transient Orca, all in the same trip, the memories are bound to last for ever. We spent time with several members of L pod, the L 12's, which included L 41, a large bull called 'Mega'. He and his Grandmother L 12, 'Álexis' were foraging off shore while other members were closer inshore of San Juan Island. K 20 and K 38 were also spotted with the rest of this group. Heading back to Victoria, we suddenly saw two more Orca that disappeared after one viewing. These two were Transient killer whales, T 20 and T 21. It was another great wildlife adventure with 'Prince of Whales'.
