Ocean Magic Wildlife Adventure May 31

Our beautiful warm weather continues and so do the Wildlife trips at 'Prince of Whales'.
Each day gets better and better. The whales are out there and so are our guests, seeking a wildlife adventure. Capt. Tyler took the 12.15pm Ocean Magic toward Hein Bank where it was reported a large number of Transient Killer Whales 15-20 had grouped up. We hadn't gone far, just south of Trail Island, when we encountered three Transient Orca, in a resting formation. They were surfacing slowly and taking long dives. These three consisted of a female and her calf and a big bull, T12 A. We watched them for a while and then took in the sights and sounds of Race Rocks Ecological Reserve. Here we saw Elephant and Harbour Seals, along with two California Sea Lions. We also saw an active Bald Eagles nest. Although the sun was illusive we still had stunning views of the Mt. Baker. Our expert Naturalists, Mika and Rhonda shared their knowledge with our guests who experienced a wonderful time on this trip.
