With sunshine, brisk winds and choppy water, Capt.Tyler headed the 3.30pm 'Ocean Magic', vessel out west toward Betcher Bay, Metchosin, along the rugged west coast of Vancouver Island. Here the spectacular scenery created a beautiful backdrop for several members of L pod while they speeded through the aqua coloured waters. These whales were bucking the flood tide as they headed west. With spray from the white-caps and plumes of spray from the Orca 'blows', exhalations, it was a challenge to spot these individuals as they crested the waves. Mika, our on board Biologist, shared her knowledge of all things marine with all our guests. It was another spectacular west coast adventure watching various members of the L 12' family group, heading out west.
