This evenings trip we traveled up Haro Strait and found the T30's mid strait abeam of turn point heading south. In the mix of 4 was one large male, two females and one calf. The calf was quite playful, spyhopping and porpoising out of the water often. Some hunting attempts were made however don't think they made a kill. They zig zagged around the strait and even once gave us a surprize up close! You just don't know where they will turn up, very upredictable with long dive patterns.

Got word that the southern residents are east bound in Sooke, they are a bit far for us tonight but hopefully tomorrow they come into the area. It's been a while now. Flat, calm and sunny reminds us that we are still enjoying the summer !
