WOW! Today, we got word from one of the other skippers that there were large groups of transients moving through the area. We headed south of Discovery Island and found the T100's with the T41's traveling in a tight group. Saw the T100 calf, starting to get familliar with some of these characters now. We then moved over by Trial Island where another large group was traveling. After watching them swing the Trial Island shorelines and on past Clover Point, we headed to Race Rocks to see some of the sea lions hauled out. Got word that transients T12 and son were headed in from Sooke, about 1 mile off of the Sooke harbour. Watched them travel for a while before we headed back in. On our way home, we could clearly see that another group of transients were making a kill, as you could see the massive group of seaguls hovering and diving into the water around them. It was truely transient killer whale galore! Anna Hall told us in all her years on the water, this is the most number of transients seen in one day, in the area.
