12:15 Ocean Magic Adventure; T10's

(T10's - please excuse my goofy comments but I was excited)

(Sealions jumping at Race Rocks)

Today was a rainy and cool day, but that doesn't change our whale sightings from being exceptional! T10's (transient killer whales consisting of 3 animals - 2 females and a large male) were sighted in Oak Bay this afternoon. They seemed to be curious about their food hanging around (harbour seals). When we arrived, I noticed the male had his nose sticking out while a female was on her side next to him scanning (see photos). The animals seemed also quite curious about us, while they were doing their thing, they turned towards us and swam very close passing the stern. It's not very often we get such a view of these illusive and mysterious orcas. In the mix, harbour seals were hanging close by, looking at us as possible haul out locations, I sure feel for them!. The large male swam close to our boat and seemed to be interacting with something down below but didn't see any blood so not sure he made a kill or not. He fluked and blew what seemed to be a large bubble from below. We had two awesome passes with these animals. We then headed over to Race Rocks where the sealions were engaged in their usual territorial battles and snoozing. Some awesome views of the animals jumping and fishing as well (please see the photos and the video). So, fall is here but so are the animals! We are so blessed to have them in our neighbourhood.

Also, there had been a rescue call by coast guard hence the photo, and we were also on alert for anything in the water but we didn't see anything. Hope no one was hurt.
