If seeing is believing, then hop on one of the ' Prince of Whales ' vessels and head out to find some of the incredible wildlife to be found in these waters. Our international guests did that today and were thrilled with the experience. The 'Ocean Magic', 12.15pm trip, with Capt Tyler and crew, took us out west to discover the beauty of our rugged coastline. It wasn't long before we encountered 12-15 Transient Orca, the true Killer Whale, two miles south and west of Race Rocks. This group of Orca had just finished lunch and were displaying exuberant behaviours of breaching, tail waving, backward dives and jostling together. They put on quite a show for us. This is fairly unusual behaviour, for these are the silent, stealth hunters that take marine mammals as prey items. Our return trip allowed for views of Elephant seals, California and Steller Sea Lions. Another awesome trip on very calm water and hazy skies.
