Only those that love whales would venture out in the driving rain to find excitement this afternoon. And that is exactly what we found. With skipper Mark at the helm, we encountered Ruffles, J1 and other members of J-Pod hunting salmon at Eagle Point, San Juan island. Even L 53 was still with J1. With flat calm waters, and few boats around, we were able to hear the serenade of calls, sqeaks, whistles and ecolocation clicks on the hydrophone. Although very wet, our return journey was accompanied by a colourful, arcing rainbow overhead.Photos by Marie "Orca-Magic"
