'' It was a real adventure in the ''Queen-of Hearts '' Zodiac this morning. With grey skies and choppy waters we went to find those magical creatures, the Southern Resident Orca. By 10 am they were found 2-3 miles south of Trail Island in a resting formation. It was amazing to see all these whales, J, K and L pod together in family groups moving slowly through the water of Oak Bay flats. Their direction of travel took them past Chatham and Discovery Islands and across Haro Strait. We left them actively foraging at 2pm off shore at San Juan Island. Another awesome trip to experience the west coast wildlife. '' Photos by Marie "Orca-Magic"

Thanks for the great photos! Because I am in the Caribbean and can't see the orcas myself it's great to be able to click on the blog and watch from here...... :) Nice work Marie!
