It was a wild and exciting trip over " lumpy " water to find J pod at San Juan Island. Two of the sprouter, adolescent males, J 26 and J 27 were seen foraging and activily chasing the salmon. It was a photographers challenge today with surprise surfacing of the orca between the 3-5 foot swells. The trip was made even more memorable with a family group porpoising by that included J 42, last years orca calf. All on board the zodiac were thrilled to see and experience the west coast weather today, with thunder and lightening in the distance and the active wildlife.
