Today we caught up with mainly Skana L79 as well as several mothers and calfs. Many of the animals were making their way south along the shoreline in small groups. Caught some interesting tail slapping behavior. Apparently Jpod was also making their way south so we almost had another superpod except that part of the Lpod headed west earlier today. Ken Balcomb from the Center for Whale Research was on scene documenting the new calf as well. I am sorry but I did not capture a photo of this new baby however hope to find some in the next few days. Pretty exciting indeed! The water was amazing and the sun warm. A beautiful evening trip onboard the Ocean Magic.
