Jpod / bowriding Dalls / afternoon trip

Today on a perfect fall day we traveled to San Juan Island where Jpod was hunting. We arrived near Lime Kiln park and found J1 milling on his own but a few miles off shore in Haro Strait. Then we saw J2 not far from J1, traveling on her own. The group was heading northbound but then turned around speed porpoising south, only to then stop, feed and proceed north once again. :) Welcome to whale watching. Alot of activity in various directions including a porpoising sprouter male (perhaps J 26?), a repetative breach sequence off in the distance as well as a group of Dalls porpoise bow riding a huge container ship! WOAH! Very cool I must say! Saw J26 traveling on his own and possibly persuing a fish. Caught a little bit of play action between calf J41 and mother J19. Some rolling around and looking at mom from above the water :) Such wonders those whales are...
