Pinnipeds, elephant seals, humpback & gray whales
(Complimentary eCard, click to download)
Today JKL pods headed west and were out of our range. But that doesn't stop a wonderful trip to be had. We ventured over to Race Rocks where two elephant seals were hauled out right up to the lighthouse. We saw a number of stellar sea lions as well as harbour seals and marine birds. We traveled a few miles to the south east to find a humpback whale making deep dives. This means we had a spectacular view of the tail during the descend. Followed by this, we traveled across the Strait of Juan de Fuca to Green Point Washington where a lone gray whale was feeding near the shoreline. Guests onboard the 12:15 Ocean Magic trip were treated to a variety of west coast wonders.
