Our trips today took us to False Bay, San Juan Island USA where k pod traveled north and south back and forth most of the day hunting and traveling in small groups. Saw a few breaches, pec slaps, mom and calf hunting session, traveling mom and babes, and some passes of sprouting male K21 Cappucino and other animals (see this blog to learn about kpod's sequim & rainshadow). An interesting noted behavior, one animal stopped and layed at the surface and waited for another trailing behind. Once the animal approached the other pec slapped and the two swam off together.

We all felt pretty lucky today as on our way this afternoon we saw the sea otter that has made an amazing appearance in our waters. The rather small otter floated peacefully along, once in a while diving beneath the surface. What a treat. It was flat calm on the water, sunny and warm. A perfect ocean magic adventure!
