After today's spectacular assembly of orcas kelping near the Victoria shoreline, the animals split into various directions, L's south, K's north and J's trailing the K's. Our evening trip, we arrived near Andrews Bay San Juan Island and observed various J pod memebers traveling very close to the shoreline. Saw J1 Ruffles pass by on his own. There was some hunting behaviors, cartwheels, spyhops, and tail lobbings. Towards the end of our trip the animals continued north and came together into groups. The sea state was perfect today, reflecting the blue sky and black and white bodies on the waters surface. On our way home we got a close look at Darcy Island bearing the remnants of the leper colony that existed there and the turn of the century. Follow this link to know more about that.

These past two days have been exhilerating!
