Marie O'Shaughnessy
Here are a couple of the last whale encountered on a magical trip late Sat afternoon Oct 13th. It was a gloriously calm, peaceful and sunny afternoon. Flat calm seas and no wind made the ride in a zodiac all the more appealing. Beemer was at the helm and gave us great opportunities to see the wildlife along the way. Two Minke whales and J Pod were observed along with fleeting appearances from Harbour and Dall's Porpoises, during the ride to San Juan Island. The big boys , the Steller Sea Lions were hauled out on Whale Rock. The variety of sea and bird life in the late afternoon sun, was pure enjoyment.
