Ocean Magic Adventure Sept 6 Noon

Under partial cloudy skies, we headed south out of the harbour with Captain Brad at the helm of the noon Ocean Magic. We were in search of Sea Lions, Harbour Seals, Elephant Seals, a Humpback Whale and some Transient Orca which had been reported in the area. Both these illusive whale mammals we found. They appeared to be resting for the most part, cruising slowly through the almost still water on a beautiful September day. The sunbathing, pinnipeds we found at Race Rocks, a protected marine, ecological reserve. Always a joy to be on the water this time of year. Photos by Marie "Orca-Magic"

Ocean Magic Adventure Sept 5 3:30pm

The Ocean Magic set out into a perfect friday afternoon on the water. Capt Brad "Dyner" took us south of Victoria and we found a Humpback working the water of Juan De Fuca Strait. After wathcing this baleen whale we set off to see some Transient Killer Whales. These amazing whales were in traveling mode. Taking four to five breaths then down for 2-3 minutes then back up again. Such magnificent creatures, graceful and so powerful. As we wrapped up our whale watching adventure our passengers were all smiles back at the dock in Victoria's inner harbor.

Zodiac Adventure Sept 5 12 Noon

The water was perfect and the sun was shining for the Noon Zodiac adventure. With Brian "Beemer" at the helm we set out of Victoria's picturesque Inner Harbor. Our trip took us west to Race Rocks where we hooked up with Transient Killer Whales. These whales were very active, breaching and spyhopping. Beemer past on we wealth of knowledge on Orca behavior and their life cycle. After enjoing these magistical Orca, we headed through Race Rocks and took in the wildlife, sealions, harbor seals, elephant seals and a variaty of birds. We concluded or adventure with a tour of the seashore on route back to the inner harbor. Such a great day on the water!

Zodiac Adventure Sept 5 10am

It was an action packed trip on the 10 am Zodiac. With no fish eating, southern resident Orca around the mammal seeking Transients, the T30's, were taking advantage of the good weather in these waters. The four whales were found once again south of the harbour and were seen actively pursuing a Steller Sea Lion. With much slicing through the water, the whales created walls of spray. Many tail slaps, porpoising, and nose diving was observed. The hapless prey was soon dispatched and the Transients moved off toward the west. Our experienced and knowledgeable skipper, Mark, 'Mallard ' headed toward Race Rocks to view the Steller and California Sea Lions that lounge on the rocks. It was another exciting day on the water.

Zodiac Adventure Sept 4 1pm

It was a lovely day to go seek the whales. Blue skies and calm waters made it all the more enjoyable. Even with a litte fog that created ''mystical moments'' the 4 Transient killer whales, the T30's, that were found south of Victoria kept those on board Mark's Zodiac, enthralled. The whales were seen in a resting formation, heading slowly toward Seattle way. With our intrepid skipper at the helm, we left the Transients and headed west to find a Humpback whale. It too was rather sleepy and wasn't in any hurry to show us its lukes. We left the 'Humpy' and made a quick stop to look at California and Steller Sea Lions at Race Rocks, then headed back to Victoria with a happy boat load of visitors. Photos by Marie "Orca-Magic"

After this mornings successful trips we are having a great day on the water! With the whales just minutes from the inner harbor, today is the day to be out there. Our next trip is leaving at 3:30 on the Ocean Magic so if you can get down to the docks in time we have space for you to join us. If a zodiac is more your style then we can get you out there at 5pm!

What a great day already! Once again it is beautiful in downtown Victoria and we have just sent out our first boat at 10:00am. Within 20 min from leaving the dock we have confirmed that we have the whales! Our next zodiac tour will leave at 12:00pm and the Ocean Magic will be leaving right after at 12:15pm. All our boats should see a great display of these magnificent marine mammals today so come and join us!

Ocean Magic Adventure Sept 1 3:30pm

The 3:30 Ocean Magic was a true adventure. From the harbor Capt Brad "Dyner", a veteran whale watching Captian, took us east and then north along the coast of scenic Vancouver Island. He then located and put us in amazng postion to view Transient Killer whales. With the engines turned off, we could hear each blow as the Orca worked their way past. Such a magic time. First mate Shamus "Shamu" and Marine Biologist Nicole past on some great knowledge of Ocra and their behavior. One will hold these memories of this day for a long time.

Ocean Magic Adventure 12:15 Sept 1

The 12:15 Ocean Magic Adventure was pure magic. We set out of the harbor and headed off to the north end of San Juan Island. Capt Shamus "Shamu" a veteran skipper with Prince of Whales had us in perfect postion as the Orca worked their way north bound close to shore. These were the magestic Killer Whales of J K and L pods. Such a perfect afternoon of whale watching...but it gets better. We head west to the south west tip of James Island and we hook up with Transient Orca. These mammal eating Killer Whales were playing, spyhoping and breaching. First Mate Brad "Dyner" and Marine Biologists Mika and Nicola gave in depth commentary about Ocra through out the trip. Oceam Magic Adventure Aug 31 3:30pm

Our 3:30 Ocean Magic adventure took us east, but not to far. We caught up with Transient Killer Whales off the Oak Bay Marina. These magestic Orca were in search of their favorite food Harbor Seals. They worked the small islands as we watched them. They did some preadatory behavior, lunging on the surface, tails in the air. After enjoying their comapny we set out for Race Rocks, only to find another pod of Transient Killer Whales south of Trial Island. A terrific afternoon on the water! Photos by Clint "Orcawizard"

Ocean Magic Adventure Aug 31 12:15pm

Our 12:15 Ocean Magic adventure took us to San Juan Island, east of Victoria. Once there we were enjoyed viewing J K and part of L pod. The whales put on a wonderful show as they worked the water for Salmon. On the way back into Harbor we managed to spot some Transient Orca working the water. There search for mammals took them inside the breakwater as we enjoed their company. This was one memorable trip for all. Photos by Clint "Orcawizard"

Ocean Magic Adventure Aug 31 9am

Into the flat calm seas we went on the 9 am Ocean Magic Adventure. Capt Brad "Dyner" took us East to San Juan Island where we caught up with J K and part of L pod.
